How to Check an MBA College Website Before You Trust the Listing

A website address is only a starting point. Old directories contain retired domains, renamed institutions, marketing microsites and third-party forms. Verification requires a chain from institution to programme to current admission evidence.

Confirm the institution and domain

Start from a regulator, statutory body or institution record when possible, then follow it to the current official domain. Treat an advertisement, counsellor page or application microsite as secondary until the main institution confirms it.

Check the legal name, campus, contact details and awarding authority. Similar abbreviations are a recurring source of confusion.

Find programme-level evidence

A credible programme trail includes curriculum, eligibility, duration, delivery mode, academic regulations, fee schedule and admissions contact. Generic claims about the institution are not enough.

Download dated documents. If the fee or recognition claim appears only in a sales message, ask the institution to point to its published source.

Inspect operational trust signals

Look for faculty information, grievance routes, refund terms, privacy policy, examination rules and a stable institutional contact. Test whether programme links and documents agree on the award and mode.

A modern design is not evidence by itself; neither is an old design proof that the institution is inactive. Follow the documentation chain.

Decision checklist

  1. Verify the legal name and current official domain.
  2. Find the exact programme page and academic regulations.
  3. Match award, mode, duration and fee across documents.
  4. Confirm contacts, grievances and refund policy.
  5. Do not publish an old external link until the destination is re-verified.

Continue the research

Last editorial rewrite: 31 July 2026. Current programmes, fees, recognition and admission rules must be verified against the institution and relevant regulator.
